"Bye bye miss American pie, drove my Chevy to the levy bu8t the levy was dry. And good old boys drinkin whiskey and rye singing this will be the day that I die. This will be the day that I die."
The long, tall drink of water with blond hair, the former pilot his greatest love, the Aerie One, was wrecked beyond repair by Doomsday clones. Her teammates nowhere in sight or sound. All of them on the run. Rumor had it that the Canary had even gone crackers and joined up with the Squadron Supreme. Of course Zinda wouldn't believe that without definitive proof.
She was out and about, no means of pro0tection except her guns and a motorcycle that was harder than the pits of hades to keep gas in. Food was scarce, bar fights were more so and getting a decent drop of alcohol was next to impossible. Surviving was rough, and rougher trying to stay out of sight from Doomsday clones but she'd never back down from anything, not even death whenever it chose to come and pull her number up.
Tonight she was in Metropolis, on a shady fishing bank that was secluded enough, would have been more so if she hadn't been quietly singing but we only go around once.
With her back against a tree and a rod dangling in the water amidst the silvery light of moonbeams, she was taking it easy and trying hard to unwind for a change; a hand propped behind her head while the other held the line in the water. as long as she could stay awake.

America why the hell was she still here? That was a good question she wasn’t really sure it’s not like she had to worry about these Doomsday clones for some odd reason they left her alone. The only thing she could guess was that because she was undead they moved around but never seemed to attack her of course she just stayed out of their way as they destroyed everything. But maybe the reason why she stayed here was to avoid her father aside from still hating him if he’s still alive which she’s pretty sure he is then he’d probably be rounding up vampires for some stupid thing at trying to take over the world or something nothing she wanted to be apart of. Cause really no vampire pure blood or not could take on even one of those clones and live. It’d be a whole lot of dusted vampires. She was only sad that she wouldn’t be able to watch it.
One thing she had noticed in the last few weeks that the number of Doomsday clones had been reduced by a lot actually strange really it made her wonder what was going on were they just dying off? Was something killing them? Or did they find a way off earth to some other world? She had no idea and wasn’t really going to go and find out if she died it’d be really hard to find a way to come back.
Lilith wandered about she was bored she wasn’t hungry she never was but she was starting to miss feeding on people it was hard to find people now day’s because of those damn things. If she knew this was going to happen she would have found herself a nice island and stockpiled human’s. She stopped walking around wondering where the hell she was she knew she was in Metropolis but no idea where. “Crap where the hell am I?” she said to the bones who else was she going to talk to? Herself? What and sound like a crazy person? Yeah right.

Who in their right mind would be out, lost or not, wandering around under the present day circumstances. Sure there were fewer clones around now than there used to be but that didn't exactly make it the safe land of the free and home of the brave that it used to be, Hopefully before long normalcy would be restored. Zinda may have been out but she hasn't always been accused of possessing her full set of marbles. Whoever the crazy chica was, they were no doubt similar in their mentalities. The blond pilot had a gun in reach in case she needed it but kept her hands on the pole, cautious despite appearances and quietly responded cool as a cucumber over her shoulder.
"Hobs Bay." Zinda called out, having earlier shooed away a massive amount of bones for a decent place to sit and fish the night away. "It's a decent place to fish and I don't think any clones will dare come back around. They have already picked the area clean long ago judging on appearance sake. How'd a gal like you get lost all the way out here, little missy?" She asked over her shoulder, having yet to establish eye contact or get a good look at the other woman whom Zinda guessed was shocked to hear a human voice in no man's land. Pop a squat and take a load off. Be my guest."

Lilith looked over when she heard someone talking guess she wasn’t all that alone after all. She made her way over to where the woman was fishing? A strange thing to do at night in a city of the dead. “You can’t be lost if you don’t really have a set place in mind to go to.” she leaned against the tree where Zinda was sitting she raised an eye brow at the way the woman was talking she hadn’t heard anyone speak like that in years World War II if she remembered right.
She had been in the area when all that was going on who do you think really killed Hitler? He didn’t kill himself like everyone believes it was in fact Lilith who had done him in only he had died weeks later then what the books say he had. The little ant ruined her plans more then once so she had to put an end to him herself wasn’t hard to do. Getting in there and getting him out to where she could have her way with him no before you even think about it she didn’t sleep with him. She had drawn out his death for weeks you should have heard him beg to be killed but she wouldn’t give it to him until she had gotten tired of him. "I haven't heard someone talk like that in years."

"We're not all as young as we look. I could tell you quite a story but I doubt you'd ever believe it Tome has a way of playing tricks on the body." Zinda gave a roll of her shoulders and nodded a little. Her eyes went wide when she felt something tug on the line and wider when she actually reeled in a wide-mouth bass. She wasn't here to take a prize home with her and she didn't have anything to put it in anyway so after she thought the other woman had glanced at it, she merely released it and sent it packing back up stream.
Setting her rode and reel down beside her after releasing the catch, the pilot stretched her arms and craned her neck, giving the other woman clad in purple and looking like she could use a good tan a tip of the hat.
"I'll take that as a compliment then and hope that's how you meant it." She smiled for a second. "Call me old-fashioned, a rebel or a throwback. Too bad not everyone in this day and age has their manners in check. I guess that would make two of us that has no set place to go. Me In just hop on my ride and go where the wind blows."
Zinda rubbed her stiff neck and stood, stretching to a broader degree in the process. "Do you need a lift somewhere, missy?"

“You have no idea how true you are about that. I don’t know I’ve lived through some pretty crazy things myself so anything you could tell me probably wouldn’t be all that shocking.” Lilith watched as Zinda caught a fish of some kind not that she care to know it did make her wonder why the woman would let it go didn’t she need to eat? Strange indeed. She looked back at the woman and the looks she was getting probably the same ones everyone gave her about being so pale. “Staring isn’t nice you know.” even if she could change it she wouldn’t she liked the way she looked she didn’t have a problem being what she was not that anything could be done about it anyways.
“Take it however you want.” She watched Zinda for a moment before looking away she really did seem out of this time. She thought over what Zinda had said about needing a lift some place. If she took her home she’d have to fight with the others over her and Lilith wasn’t one for sharing anything blood or otherwise. “No…not anymore I just wander about until I find some place to sleep for a while then move on not safe staying in one place for to long.”

"You bet your aunt Fanny isn't nice. Kinda rude also and I apologize. I didn't realize I was doing it until you said something. I wouldn't go putting anyone down cause of their appearance sake, lass. As infested as this area is, the water doesn't appear a helluva lof cleaner so I wouldn't put my stomach on the line for anything that swims these local currents."
She pondered throwing her line back in the water but thought better of it, intrigued by the notion this other gal had for wanting to hear her story. She probably wouldn't believe it but it gave Zinda a chance to relive a few glory days if only for a moment and she always enjoyed that.
"Like I said time has a way of playing tricks on the body. I am really 88 years old despite my appearance. Was born back in 1924, fought in World War II and briefly in Korea before I was ripped out of time and deposited in the present. Getting by is a day to day struggle but I wouldn't trade a day of my life for anything, despite the tradeoff of lack of family and the fact that the close friends I made in this future have all gone their separate ways. Not cryin over it though. It is what it is. I'm a survivor. Always have been and will be."
She nodded at the woman's refusal of a lift and pondered what to do next, whether to sit back down and cast another line or head back to her motorcycle. "You can bet your sweet bippy on that. I don't know where I'll be heading next With my plane out of commission and gas on short supply plus the fact I don't have a full tank on my wheels I doubt I'll be straying too far but I just thought I'd offer. It's the polite thjng to do and I wouldn't have minded taking you as far as you needed to go."
Zinda explained, curious to hear what the woman's story was but not wanting to press the issue since she'd more or less already been called rude if not nosy.

“We are much the same in a way I’m 560 years old I was born in 1452 unlike you I wasn’t pulled into this time I lived every second of it I live as long as my father does.” she put a lot of venom on the word father she really didn’t like hers. “I stayed out of the second world war until the end when I was fed up with Hitler getting in my way. I tracked him down and took him not before making the people there believe he was dead. It’s funny the things he would say as I tortured him you know considering who he was and all.” Was she worried about telling Zinda this? Not at all no one would ever learn about it anyways. Not when she finally decided to make her move but until then she’ll just play a game with the blonde to entertain herself in the meantime.
“I guess you could say I did the world a favor making his death more painful then it actually was.” She wasn’t one to do good deeds but just this once she had no other choice in the matter. “Being immortal I’ve done a lot of things most of them weren’t good but as I see it none of it even matters in the long run. As long as I have lived things haven’t changed at all. New year new ways to kill over the same things we’ve always been fighting over.”

Zinda Blake's jaw dropped. She was in shock, there was no disguising the fact as the pale woman began giving an abridged version of her lifestyle. She only knew of one villain the birds had encountered since she was dumped in the modern era whom had lived several centuries. Ra's. But still the blonde aviatrix couldn't bring herself to believe the truth of the tale she'd just been fed. The woman was either on drugs, was insane or both. Something didn't add up somehow.
Either way her blood was boiling. Just the mere thought that someone could have actually gotten their hands on the waste of life known as Hitler and deprived every single person who had ever worn a military uniform back then over the ultimate goal set her off. How though could someone have just grabbed him without anyone figuring it. History books would need to be rewritten but that wasn't her concern. Her mood had darkened and she was no longer in the mood to spend more time here than she had to.
"There is no way any death imaginable for that man was as painful as it should have been but you? Your little red choo-choo has done gone falling off the bend missy. You can't believe any sane person would buy this. What kind of drugs are you on?" She asked, deep scowl on her face, as she turned and snagged her pole, ready to make a hasty exit.

Slowly the pale blue in Lilith’s eyes turned red before she disappeared? No just moved in front of Zinda to block her way. Her arm shot out her looking to wrap around the blondes neck and left her off the ground as if she weighed nothing at all. She brought the woman closer to her “I am Lilith the Daughter of Dracula do not insult me again or I’ll drain you dry so fast you wont know what happened.” she bared her teeth just so Zinda could see her fangs before she tossed the woman a good 20feet away. She moved again this time to appear behind Zinda and growled at her “Tell me little girl are you scared?” she her head was tilted to the side thinking of what to do with the woman as she glared down at her.
She could kill her yes it’d be easy and there was so many ways to do it too. Turn her? In another place in time perhaps but if she did it now how would she kept the pup fed? Not like there was an unlimited supply of human’s walking around now. And she couldn’t have the pup feeding off her all the time she’d be to weak to be able to do anything as much as new borns eat. She’d have to settle for just a bite make her obsessed with Lilith it’d fill her mind with fantasies of the vampire mother until Zind died then she’ll fully turn. Hopefully by then there be more human’s around for her to feed on.

Zinda wouldn't deny she'd gotten her butt handed to her a few times in the past. Ok she would deny it and she could to everyone but herself but being beaten by someone and fearing them were two sides of the same coin. There was little in the past or present, during the war or now she feared. She'd been to hell and back again, seen good soldiers die in the heart of warfare, seen things that would drive some people insane and lived to tell about it.
Now as she moved back to where her motorcycle rested some sixth sense or voice in the back of her head left the indelible impression she was in for the fight of her life here and perhaps her number had just come to the top iof the stack. In other words, perhaps her number had finally come up.
"Scared of you?" She muttered until the hand wrapped around her throat and heaved her through the air. "Not likely. Nor of anyone else and I've seen it all, lady."
Ok, bothy statements were lies. Fear was setting in but she did a decent job of hiding it, even as she was sent sailing through the air like a doll and crashed to the ground with the breath knocked out of her. Dracula's daughter. Right. Somehow now Zinda found it all easier to believe. Her chest hurting and every bone being rattled with the fall, she struggled to reach for her guns. unknowing if they would even affect this woman as she turned and made the mother of all mistakes in dealing with vampires. Not that Zinda would know since she'd never dealt with one before. she made eye contact.
The effects were immediate. Not only did her bones ache now but fog began rolling through her mind like clouds. What was she doing out here? What the hell was happening? What was happening to her? All good questions that she had no answers to now but it was getting harder to think independently. Everything felt strange. Her head was buzzing as her eyes grew a vacant stare to them widening while her jaw dropped ever so slightly. What was happening to her? Couldn't look away.
"What...are you doing...to...me?"

Lilith wasn’t impressed with anything Zinda had said many people before her had said the same thing right before she either killed them or made them her slaves. “I’ve killed people for saying less.” she look down her nose at Zinda like the woman was below her which in Lilith’s mind she was but then again all human’s were. Human’s where here to feed and serve vampires nothing more then that. “Your false bravado is betraying you I can smell your fear from here.” she always did find it amusing when people acted like they weren’t scared of her when they really were. In a place all alone with no one around to help her. She was as good as Lilith’s.
“Calming what’s mine. That’s what I’m doing.” she moved in for the kill sort of speak. Her teeth sank into Zinda’s neck for a moment before releasing her the small amount of blood she got from the bite told her everything about Zinda like her life story in seconds “You belong to me now Zinda and when you die you will truly be mine body and soul.” she smiled the shorter younger woman.

It was like wading naked through snow in a figurative sense as the soldier from another time finally wrapped her fingers around the gun attached to her hip and brought it to point at Lilith's temples. Her hand was shaking, her eyes were blurring and the look on Lilith's face told Zinda she didn't think she had the nerve to pull the trigger. For the first time ever it was a true statement. Something about the other woman's eyes digging into her mind and it was too late to build any resistance to it.
The gun fell from her trembling hands and when she lifted a leg to try and kick the vampire in the stomach she was in the wrong position at the wrong time. Before she could blink she felt teeth sinking for just a moment into her neck and a sharp, stinging pain. It came and passed quickly, like a hornet sting but the after effect was dramatically different.
From how she was orphaned at an early age through every moment Zinda hadn't forgotten from her time as a Blackhawk and how she made history to the torment she suffered at the hands of Killer Shark right to the present day, including secrets that Zinda never meant to reveal, such as the identity of Oracle and others, Lilith now knew everything Zinda knew and stood there smirking at the blond.
The angry glare was replaced by confusion as she was entranced on the spot, and then after a few seconds thoughts and commitments to everything and everyone else melted away. She was Lilith's now. A smile finally stretched across her lips as she acknowledged the obvious. From now on, wherever they went she would be and had to be inseparable from Lilith Dracul.
"Where are we headed now, mistress?"

It seemed Zinda did have some fight in her although she wasn’t able to do much of anything a bullet would hurt but she’d heal from it and the kick wouldn’t have done much Lilith would have caught it before it even touched her. So many things they could do keep moving and avoiding the clones those that are left or they could stay here for a while which sounded better she was tired of having to move around so much. “Why don’t we find someplace to stay for a while and enjoy ourselves.” she turned away from Zinda but stopped and looked over her shoulder “Don’t forget your gun.” she then walked off heading into the city to find some place to call home for a while.

"Right." Zinda quipped, scooping her gun off the ground, wiping mud off that had gathered from where it fell and tucked it away along with the other one that was still strapped to her waist. While her new partner started walking ahead however Zinda Blake wistfully walked into seclusion off to the right a short distance where she had left her motorcycle and gave it a powerful jump start with legs that felt like butter a few seconds ago now able to support her weight again.
"One good thing about it if we can actually a decent place that hasn't been leveled yet, I guarantee we should have privacy. Noone really around to bother us and I have a feeling you like you're quiet and privacy. Suits me fine."
Her bike had been constructed for stealth, quiet engine that Zinda tuned into shape herself for just such a purpose. Guaranteed not to wake any unfriendly clones and bring them out of the woodwork.
"I know this isn't the most luxurious mode of transportation but it's all I've got left. We don't have to walk though unless you absolutely want to. My plane, helicopter and limo are else practically junk at the moment and this gal ain't got the cabbage to get them back into fightin' shape at the moment. Feel free to hop on if you like and stop me when you see some place you wanna call home. You don't seem like the type that worries where her next meal is coming from either but I am kinda starving right now. I'd almost kill for a decent t-bone. Fat chance though."
