Deep trouble (open)

This was insane why the hell did Stark give her this mission? If she wanted to die she would have slit her throat it would have been less painful. But no she had to be here in what was left of the Avengers Mansion quietly moving about hoping to the curl gods above there was no clone inside or even near the building just incase some noise was made. She crept along thankful for her night vision sunglasses she had got for her birthday a few years ago. After what seemed like hours she finally made it to the secret elevator to the lower levels she pushed the button and the doors slid open it wasn’t very loud but to her it sounded like a car alarm going off she worried any noise would bring those monsters running right to her.

She waited and listen for a while before stepping into the elevator and hitting the button for the third lower level where Hank Pym’s lab was at. It was a short ride when the doors opened she wasn’t standing in front of them but off to the side just in case. She waited and listen again for movement but heard none slipping out she made her way down the hall to the lab and did the same with this door as she had done with the elevator. Kate had to be really careful she was human she didn’t have any powers to defend herself all she had was arrows and they didn’t do much. If she was lucky they’d slow the clones down for a second or two but that was it.

She stood in the lab looking around for the vault it was a lot hard to find in the dark and in ruins. Plus she never been down here she was just going by the plans Steve had shown her. There it was off to her right making her way over she put the codes in and pulling the door open. So much stuff but she was there only for the Pym Particles it didn’t take long for her to find the canister and she was out of there but made sure to close the vault just in case there was something else they needed from there later on.

The easy part was over with now she had to make her way back to the hidden Quinjet near by it wasn’t going to be as easy she’d be out in the open. She wasn’t going to be that lucky the clone landed behind her and she shot off like a rocket but it wouldn’t be fast enough. Kate was human she couldn’t out run this thing and she couldn’t make it back to the Quinjet and take off before that thing was on top of her. She had to think of something and fast before she ended up dead.

In the Avenger Jet flying from the underground base to NY was none other than Bruce Banner, better known as The Hulk. Before leaving, Tony and him talked about Hawkeye going to the Avengers Mansion to gather a few things. Bruce asked why she was going alone but Tony told Bruce to go as well for backup just in case things don’t go well. So that’s why Bruce is in the Avenger jet right now flying on low ground so that no clones won’t notice him because if they did, Bruce would have no other choice but turn into The Hulk and Smash his way through the clones, even if it meant killing them. Those clones may be strong but The Hulk is the strongest there is and he’s proven it day in and day since that day the gamma bond exploded, turning Bruce into The Hulk for the first time.

Finding a place to land near the Avengers as he did, Bruce turned on the night vision from the jet, which scanned the place and located where Kate was. She wasn’t hurt or found by one so that’s a good sign but as Bruce waited and waited longer the screening picked up a red dot, meaning that someone found her. Bruce sighed, wishing that it didn’t have to come to this but it did. Bruce got up from the front of the jet and went to the back to change. Coming out, Bruce is in his attire for the Hulk, the one that’s designed for him thanks to a friend of his. Bruce slowly closed his eyes, breathing slowly, in and out, he opened his eyes, they were green. Suddenly, Bruce transformed into Hulk and the monster growled.

He could hear footsteps coming and Hulk ran out seeing Hawkeye being chased by the clone. HULK IS THE STRONGER THERE IS!!!!!, he screamed as he leaped and went after the clone, pounding and smashing. Quickly looks at het , “GO!!!!” he yelled at her. The Green Goliath would try and keep the clone at bay so that he wouldn’t go after her. “CLONE WON’T HURT HULK’S FRIEND!!!”, he yelled and threw the clone across the street before leaping and kneeing the clone on its bones, still on the attack.

Kate skidded to a stop when the Hulk showed up where did he come from? Not that she was complaining she could use the help and who better then jade jaws? She thought about running but had an idea instead she just needed to get in the right place and have an opening she wouldn’t want to end up hitting Hulk it would be bad if she did. She took off moving around to see if she can find an opening. As she ran she pulled out an arrow it wasn’t a normal one it was a Pym Particle arrow she only had one so she had to make it count and couldn’t hit Hulk or he’d be the small one and they’d both be dead.

She stopped “Hey Hulk get ready to catch!” she let the arrow fly it hit the clone square in the back and started to shrink and didn’t stop until it was about five inches tall. “Don’t kill it we should take it back with us so we can study it find a way to get rid of it. If we can do that then we can get rid of the rest of them and the world will be back to normal.” she said as she walked up to the large green man. “At this size it wont be able to hurt anyone or break out of anything that we put it in.” she would have suggest using the Pym Particles on all of the clones but there wasn’t enough in this container unless someone knew how to make more that was something she didn’t know.

Pounding and smashing the clone as The Incredible Hulk continued his assault. The only thing on Hulk’s mind was to make this disgusting monster pay for trying to hurt his friend Katie. Suddenly he heard the female Hawkeye’s voice as he stopped and listened before raising his fists, tight and clenched just about to throw the clone all the way to the sky. Hulk watched as the arrow Hawkeye was shooting hit the clone and Hulk witnessed it getting smaller to five inches. Hulk had that trademark smirk and cracked his knuckles, ready to take out the clone. Would Hulk care if he killed the thing? Hell no. He heard Kate’s voice again before smashing and listened carefully. Hulk understood Katie and she’s telling the truth so Hulk stepped away from the clone before he slowly transformed back into Bruce Banner.

Bruce sighed before pulled something out of one of the small pockets of his attire. It was jar as Bruce opened it up before slamming it on the clone, placing it inside that was enough to fit the thing inside. “There, that should keep this little monster in there for awhile until we bring him back to headquarters” Bruce said before giving Kate the jar. “There you go Katie. Stark sent me for back up just in case things didn’t go your way” he explained to her. “I mean I don’t know what Tony was thinking about sending you here by yourself. It’s a wise choice to send me here so that you wouldn’t have to deal with the aftermath on your own”, he said and smiled at the female warrior, just glad to see her still alive.

“Trade ya.” Kate handed Bruce the container with what was left of the Pym Particles. “This is what’s left of the Pym Particles hopefully you or someone could make more so we can use it on these guys.” she gave the jar a shake to knock the clone off it’s feet when it was trying to break the glass. “Then Hulk can go on a smashing spree and we can start taking back cites or something.” rebuilding cities like this was going to take a very long time but maybe this time they could make it a better place then it had been.

“Tony wasn’t thinking things through and probably thought I could sneak in and out without any of those things spotting me. Being human and all I don’t have any flashy powers that would attract them.” she shrugged she really didn’t know why Stark sent her out here on her own with out someone backing her up just in case something did go wrong. She is thankful Bruce did come in find her she really didn’t want to die but living wasn’t such a great thing anymore either. "Though I probably should wear something darker then this so I don't stick out as much."

"True. I mean you can say the same thing about me, since I am mostly the biggest target. Being The Hulk and being green doesn't come with the best results" Bruce told her and it's true. All those years on the run, Bruce was always the target for the military and that lead to dangerous results. That's why he stayed away from the people that are closet to him, Rick, Betty, and so many others. Now he wasn't hunted anymore by the general, now he has people he can trust, like the Avengers. If he didn't have them, Bruce would be all alone but now he's not.

"As for Tony you can say that but he's got through a lot of things right now. Trying to recruit more heroes, coming up with plans, he's not the only one" Bruce said to Katie and noticed what the clone was doing, trying to escape, unfortuantley that wouldn't happen, not today. If that little monster tried breaking out, Bruce would unleash the Hulk and kill that nasty thing. Even when the time comes, Bruce would let the Hulk do whatever he wanted to the clones. If tonight was just an example, wait till the day comes.

“In the past maybe but in the world today you’d fit in me not so much. Being human isn’t so great any more just going outside could get me killed at lest you have a fighting chance.” Really what good could she do anymore? Her arrows were useless against those things other then to piss them off. And it’s not like she could walk up to them and punch them hard enough to send them across the country. If she didn’t die right away she’d probably break every bone in her hand hitting one.

“That’s not a good enough excuse after all these years fighting these things he should have known better. If I had died out here some how word would have gotten out and no one would want to join Tony’s little team.” The civilians that lived in the base with them knew she had been sent out here alone if she did die they would tell the hero’s that were going to join Tony’s team he was trying to put together and they most likely wouldn’t work with a man who put peoples lives in danger with out thinking things through like he did with her.

Still Bruce couldn’t blame Kate for what happened but maybe she should be thankful that she’s alive thanks to Bruce AND The Hulk. And still Tony would never send his warriors alone to the battlefield, that’s not the Iron Man/Tony Stark at all. He even told Bruce to go with her just in case things didn’t go well. Bruce knew that once time passes Kate will see Tony for who he is, not what she thinks. Tony never sends people or heroes to die for that matter, there’s always a reason. “Well the good thing now is that you’re alive Kate. The other good thing is that we have the Pym particles. Once we get back to the lab, I will do my best and make some more” I told her.

Bruce decided not to argue with Kate even though it would make him angry too. Bruce cleared his throat before speaking. “And I am not so sure about that. I mean yes being human doesn’t give you a lot of things but as long as you work hard and never give up, the world will know that you’re not playing around” he told her. Even as The Hulk people found Bruce more intimidating and decided to stay away from him, deciding that it was better not to piss him off. Bruce would never hurt a fly and stay as the good doctor but knew that it wouldn’t work against others. “So anyway, how about we get out of here and head back to the underground base? We should leave now” he told her and for the better.
