((this post is long over due and I am sorry, but it will be brief.))
The gap in time between the error and Sakkara's actions is to long and a schism between body and mind occurs within Powergirl. All fail safes malfunction and the error persists a few seconds longer, then the basal automatic systems reboot correctly and continue normally.
Powergirl is reassembled, but she is apparently non functional. After her head is closed up and resealed, everything is in it's place and she should be functional, but isn't. In medical terms, they would say she is brain dead, but since modern medicine doesn't really apply to power girl any more, anybodies guess is valid. All of the screens around them read full functionality, but Power Girl lays motionless on the table. She's breathing, her synthetic heart is beating in her chest, but her eyes are closed.
Further investigation will reveal that she has entered into a kind of cybernetic coma. The technology is so advanced, it's very hard to understand, much like the human body. She may wake up tomorrow, or ... never.
