From far enough away, the distance from out sun to the furthest planet out can look like a pin head. In reality it's about 4 billion miles in distance. Of course when you travel at light speed, that distance seems trivial. Six hours travel time at that speed. Makes the entire solar system seem more like the size of Texas, rather than the incomprehensible size it truly is.
Traveling to the moon from earth is by comparison, about as simple as going to the shed in the back yard of your home. Which is where Power Girl is now. Not in the shed, but on the moon. The dark side of the moon to be specific.
She's laying on her back, with her hands tucked up under her head and her legs bent, staring out into the void of space. Of course she can see things most people can't. Other solar systems, planets with in them. Her eyes have become more potent than massive mile wide radio telescopes and far more accurate.
Accurate enough to say...blow of asteroids on the asteroid belt from the moon. It may not be healthy for the gravitational relationship between the earth and moon, but power girl can set back right any damage she causes, for right now, she's just having fun. Fun in a way she never did before.
So right now, every ten seconds or so, a beam of brilliant electric blue light pours from the surface of the moon and vanishes into the distant void. The beam probably looks like a needle from the surface of earth, if it can be seen at all, which it most likely can't. From where power girl is sitting though, it's about six feet across and filled with the energy of the sun, a focused power house of energy with enough thrust and strength to not only reach the asteroid belt, but also blow up asteroids with in it.
Almost like...space invaders.

The Void, blackness of space was nothing short of all consuming an upon seeing it first hand terrifying. If not more then several long decades ago, Loki fell into it for the first time. Now logically one does just not fall into space, one has to fall from some where, The edge of a rainbow bridge, clutching to what was the last shreds of a past life by but the slipping grip of a golden spear. He did not fall then, No Loki let go so many years ago setting things into motion that could then forth not be un done. Ragnarok and now it was drawing ever closer. Midgard had long been laid to waste, a post apocalyptic hell where those that survived did not pray to make it to the next day but the next hour. Those that made it from day to day were considered lucky. To Loki, it was more then amusing to see such things. Ones worst enemy was not the things that pulled the realm down to destruction but other survivors. Kill or be killed society. It was nothing more then a wicked game to him. He could twist and pull at the very threads that held fate together. Killing for amusement. Trick shuffling the deck to tilt in favor of whom ever if one will. Loki had taken up sort of stargazing at the even though he knew what lurked in the dark of the sky. However the flash of blue was not what he expected to see almost in a pattern it seemed. He quirked his head to the side, cat like, while he stood upon a ruined skyscraper roof. One of the few that still stood tall amongst the rubble. What was that? There it was again. His Vivid green eyes narrowed, as he easily teleported to investigate. He was stranger to the crushing voids pressure. He could withstand it. Nor did he really need the air that wasn't there to breathe. The tall god appeared right next to the, what seemed to be a, person responsible for the flash. Check mate, it was. There was a charge to her, Something was not quite human at all. Almost like a man made electrical charge. Strange. "That was not Quite the bad shot, Though the true Question is why?" He let his presence be known with such a sarcastic telepathic invasion. Nothing more then a statement though. There was no need for Loki to dig further into the psyche of a part machine. {ᛚᛟᚴᛁ}

Karen did not hear Loki arrive, she saw him when he spoke to her mind though, she looked over at him and spoke back bravely, as if the fear of having her mind invaded was nill and non existant, in truth, it was more or less like expecting a tree to flee from fire. Loki can touch the organic portions of power girl's mind, his power may even allow him to delve into the artifical portions, but in either all he will find is madness. Emotional instability made chaotic by a disconnection of mind from body. Like being in a constant fugue state with a tether that just wont let you drift all the way away. That tether being the cybernetic portions of her brain that are immune to such maladies of the mind.
"Loki Laufeyson. Powerful Magic user. I should fear you, but I don't."
She said it like it was startling to her, like it was something she didn't know a moment ago. Rather than even get up or display any kind of alarm, she looked back at the distant void and shot another high powered beam at the heavens. In the far far off distance, another asteroid is reduced to space dust.

Well that was indeed different, He had seen so may others cower in fear upon his presence or mental invasion. This caused him to not only pry a bit but Laugh to himself silently. It was on further inspection that he realized it would be better to back off the mental excavation. It was so disconnected, so dis-joined. Such a clash was going to give him a Migraine should he continue. "You are either too brave for your own good or too foolish to know the difference between the information you can surmise and what you truly know." He watched as she destroyed yet another small globe in the distance. Was it aggression or boredom that the cyborg was relieving. In all of his vast knowledge of things, robotics as still very foreign. Not that he could not just over load the current an destroy it entirely. Then he would not learn about it. If he did wish to.

She fires off another shot, this beam started out at six feet across but quadrupled to 24 by the time it was about a mile out. About that time, dawn on the moon was beginning to show, dawn on the moon takes a lot longer to poke through but the like was definitely beginning to creep around. That last beam was definitely visible from earth.
She looks over at him and listens, then she sits up. The simple fact is, there is only so much room in a person for fear, and right now all of that fear is located else where, displaced apart from her person. She's aware she cannot die and while she will not flaunt it, and does not seek to test it, she knows she cannot. It would be very painful, and she would never be the same again, but she would not die. Though she also is not aware of what Loki is truly capable of.
Suddenly, she puts her hand to hand to her head, and if loki is still peeking, he'll see a sudden shift of thought from out of no where, as if a rush of personality just flourished to the surface.
"Sorry! That was rude...I'm...I'm not very good with people any more."
Power girl stands up and moves closer to Loki and extends her hand.
"I know who you are, I don't know what you can do, but at the moment, I have no reason to fear you because I have done nothing to you. I was once associated with your brother though, which I know...is reason enough in some minds to murder...believe me...the past few months have taught me more about the inner workings of a criminal mind than I ever wanted to know...I have...not been well."
And she's probably telling him all this because she knows it's fruitless to hide it. The JLA databanks do come very well stocked with data, and she's able to access them at any point.

He watches the next shot idly, they change in size and power. It is a slightly impressive feet to the God. For such a strange being. So confused on the direction it will take next with out knowing it. Truly a being that chaos has granted what seems a new life. They are the same in more ways then one, both thrive on chaos one way or another. Loki revels in its cruel wheel of fate that he can personally deal out, while This Karen Starr seems to depend on its processes to maintain life. Neither can die, One can be rebuilt, the other can regenerate. Loki pushes the thoughts from his mind, there was no need to connect with such a being, to almost sympathize. It was something he once told himself he would allow. But no longer. IT had got him no where in the past. It was then as he continued to pry a sudden though process invaded like a rubber band snaps violently. He pulled back mentally, quite finished with the impending threat of a mild headache he was causing himself upon no fault then his own. He gave her an estranged look, before glancing at her hand, but does not take it. It would symbolize a connection. One he would rather avoid. Loki's face pulled into a tinge of disgust upon the mention of his brother. "Correction, I have no brother. Twas merely a force fed lie. To both of us" His tone was bitter, angry, impending on down right violent. He hated Thor, and everything he stood for. Every little pain that was caused could be traced back to Thor. "Every mind is complex in nature, Everyone has the capacity for evil. Trust me, I know that. But its best if you do not. I have been known to Lie. " An with that his mind ventured back to its original question. "So why the disruption, Not that I am judging, merely curious as to why"

She feels a prang of guilt at the misrepresentation of siblinghood with thor. It's entirely possible the data is incorrect, out dated or simply invalid all together. In fact, power girl is able to edit the flies on the JL database as she pleases, that fact alone alarms her enough that she may start taking what is written there with a grain of salt. Live and learn.
"Sorry."
It was short, sweet and meaningful. She truely hadn't wanted to offend Loki, despite what ever evil origin he may persist.
"I don't trust you, but at the same time I do, based solely on virtue of similar experiences. I'm a liar too, and I'm violent. I killed a human being in cold blood not two days ago, and I still don't know why I did...But to your question, because I can. Because I'm bored and I don't feel like being a hero, I don't feel like being on earth. I have a wife, foster grandparents, two cousins and a dog that love me, an entire race that once looked up to me, and I can't remember how any of that feels. Love is more like a heart shaped shadow. I can see it, but I can't touch it any more...sometimes. So I'm here...Destroying things...because for some reason, that makes me feel better. Or maybe it just distracts me, I'm not sure."
She offers Loki a passionless smile at the end of her minor tirade

Sorry never fixed anything. It was merely a word, even from a stranger it held no meaning to him. He gave the woman a strange look. Loki could not understand that she was willingly separated from the people she loved or once felt love for. Even though If he could go back and change everything, he would not. It was destine to happen, the god would only go about losing it all another way. He had only ever truly loved few, those few had been torn away from him by hos own doing. His own exile. He could sympathize with the want to Destroy. He was the Sorrow Bringer. The catalyst for the end of the worlds, every day he was bringing it one step closer. "It distracts one from the pain, even if you cannot feel it or are numb to it now. One always knows its there. A nagging, biting feeling. Nothing gets rid of it. Except restoring what cause it. But when that is unattainable. " Loki shook his head and laughed at himself hollowly before turning his gaze from the Blonde to the blackness. "But For some, We can never escape destruction. Some of us were born for such horrid destinies. "

Karen thinks about what Loki says as he said it. Her mind could process the data quickly, but to extrapolate further ends still took time. Understanding cultural, societal, empathetic, emotional and psychological implications was something she'd begun to struggle with.
"When Spiral first brought me back to life, I was in so much pain I wanted to destroy the earth. But I couldn't do it. So I know I'm not meant for destruction. Right now I'm a hurricane, running its course. With time the hurricane will dissipate into the calm reassure breeze and life giving rains I used to be..."
That level of insight was some-what profound. Perhaps talking to Loki today will have more merit than originally thought.

Loki looked back at the blonde. She wanted to destroy the earth? Maybe he could instigate such emotions back to the surface. "It will do one of two things, It will die down or it will grow stronger. But as it grows so does strength. Such feelings are fuel. The can cause you to do things you never in your wildest dreams thought you could. " His had caused him to turn the tides on everything that had been constance. Drag his brother's name through the mud and have him banished. Never did he thought he would accomplish things of that nature. "I for one would not be the being I am today with out it. I became so much stronger from the pain. An the vengeance I had longed for, for so long was finally mine. As short lived as it was. I tasted it An that was enough"

Karen could truely understand what Loki meant, she has been stronger in her rage than she ever was while at piece, but the cost of that strength has been her soul and mind. It's not a cost she is willing to pay in her right mind. She has some how managed to come to a state of calm and completeness with loki in her presence, how odd that the god of chaos can settle the chaos in karen's mind, it should be the opposite shouldn't it?
"You're right Loki, I am stronger now than I ever was, I don't pull my punches, I put my entire being into every action I make. But the result is madness, my mind and soul are so fractured I can barely tell who I am any more. I go from blind rage to inconsolable sadness to complete apathy. Only about 30 percent of the time am I who I was, and even during that time I'm sad, because I know I miss myself, I miss who I was and I have no idea how to get back to it. The one component I need to find the sacrifice of myself worth it, I do not feel in any iteration of myself, sane or insane, and that is ambition."
Karen considers bargaining with Loki, he's a god after all, perhaps he can help her. Could she force him to? Would she want to travel down that road? Loki's probably in the top five of magic users in all the universe. She knows the cybernetics she has now have taken on her kryptonian physiology, without taking on her weakness to magic, which has given her a kind of immunity to magic, but all the fleshy bits she has left are still very much vulnerable. Fighting Loki would hurt a lot, and the goal of all this is to escape or cure the pain, not cause more of it, right?
