Sometimes when the world ends you have no choice but to come home , Pepper hated havening to come back to the base but her home was gone and she needed repairs to her armor so she slowed her pride and made her way to the base .
It was not like she hated her team it was just Tony she still had trouble looking him in the eyes for saving her life , but the deed had been done and from the ashes of pepper Potts Rescue and come to be . How many life's had been saved thanks to her , how many people had she given futures to , how many students had she trained to be the next hero's that gave rescue hope .
Landing rescue looked around before steping out of her armor , from rescue to pepper she stretched her arms over her head willing the knots in her shoulders to loose. " Jarvis would you take rescue to the armory and begin the repairs please ? " the armor nodded before walking off leaving pepper alone , deciding to find some one pepper began to move to what she remembered to be the meeting room " hey is any one here ? "

Tony, Rhodes and others were in the cafeteria of the underground base, taking a break from the hard work. Recently they recruitted Captain America, and now Wasp so things were looking good for the Avengers. Some things still needed to be known on what the next attack would be. Tony wouldn't let the clones take over the world that easily. The first time they were all caught off gaurd because of there strength that led them here. Rhodes and Tony recently figured out a way to take down the clones due to there weaknesses but needed time for it to work.
Tony decided to head to the meeting room once his lunch was over. He wanted to go back and take a break for a second before looking at more clone reports. As he did, he heard a familar voice call out to see if there was anyone home and right off the bat Tony smirked. Walking inside of the meeting room Tony smiled at the red head. "Well hello there Miss Potts, it's been awhile hasn't it?" he asked and chuckled a bit before giving Pepper as big hug. "It's so good to see ya Pepper and you look great too" he complemented, checking her out but just joked
"So since you're here, shall I show you around?" Tony asked her.

Walking deeper into the base Pepper tried to distance her self from the battles outside cracking her neck she sighed letting her mind wander back to better times, her times as the spunky girl Tuesday to Tony's superman. As if summoned he was there when she looked up . Falling into old times she smiled "Hello Mr. Stark , how can I be of service today ? her voice held humor and loneness she had missed stark but would never admit it .
Hugging him back she than pulled away noticing that he was checking her out made her smirk and she brought her hand to her chest and taped her Arc reactor when he mentioned her looking good ," you know what they say Better livening trough technology, you look good to Tony , sorry I stayed away so long ...
Pepper closed her eyes and nodded " I came because you sent the call out for hero's , so Iwould like a tour of my new home . Pepper lost her self for a moment biting her lip she looked Tony in the eyes . " has any of the Order checked in ? I would like to see my old team, but come one lets walk and talk shall we ?

"Alrigh then Pep, follow me" Tony said to her as they left the meeting room. Tony showed Pepper around the base, her new room, the danger room version which is much different than the one the X-Men uses, and other places. He introduced her to the staff members of the avengers base and they got along quiet well. It was good for Tony to have Pepper back because even though Rhodes was with him, the golden avenger still needed someone to knock him down a few pegs if he ever went out of line. Tony and Pepper will always be there for each other no matter what happens.
"And here is the break room" Tony said as he and Pepper walked in seeing Rhodes drinking coffee. Rhodes looked like he was about to choke on his coffee but didn't as he swallowed, put his drink down and walks over to give Peper a big hug. "Hey Pepper, it's so good to see you. You do look great though" he said and Rhodes smiled. He and Pepper are friends too since they first met, mostly like brother and sister but it's still all good. "I take it that you still have the rescue armor that Tony created for you" James said as he knew Pepper was Rescue. Rhodes didnt' mind having a thrird person or anyone with armor helping out.

Pepper was acitily surprised at the sheer size and of course Tony had the best toys , always did so she acted like she had seen it all before Tony's ego did not need to grow any more than it was. As she was introduced she smiled and gave small talk likening the people who Tony had decided to surround himself with . I will give credit where it is due Tony this is rather impressive
seeing rhodie she rushed over and nearly jumped into the hug happy to see her friend again holding on for a long moment she reached up and kissed rhodie on the cheek " all things considered its good to see you to Rhodie, rescue is in the matance bay her thruster is acting up but other than that she good , how is the warmachine armor ?
Walking over to the pot pepper fixed her self a cup and sipped it for a moment . She hated asking Tony for any more help but looking up she let out a sigh .Tony .... Would you mind doing something for me ?

"War Machine armor's doing good. Acutally since myself, Tony and the others have been down here, Tony has been upgrading the armor a bit, making some adjustments but new armor to take on the clones" Rhodes told Pepper before taking a sip of his coffee. "You know, i'm gonna head out and go to the training room. It was good seeing you Pep and welcome back to the team...and welcome home" Rhodes told Pepper and gave her a hug. "See you later" he said as Rhodes left the room and he was glad to see Pepper back, also to fight along the battlelines.
When he left, Tony sat down at the table while hearing Pepper ask him for something. "Come on now Pepper, you know i'll be there for you right?" I asked her. "And you know that you can always come to me and count on me for anything. I always come back to my best girl" he told Pepper. "So what's up?" he asked the red head. For years Tony and Pepper have always been close whether as friends or even in love. As for now they were just friends and Tony would always look to Pepper for assitance and guidance

Pepper waved as Warmachine walked from the room considering hitting the training room later herself but for now she sipped her coffee pushing off the counter and joining Tony at the table . She seemingly got lost in her memories , the fight she and Tony had before she had left. Looking up she smiled slightly knowing Tony would love what was coming .
Tony I never did thank you and Danny for rebuilding me , or for rescue , she is everything I wished she could be , that being said . I would like you to arm her . Her shields are wonderful and the strength you have given her is wow but there may come aday where there is not a bus to throw so I can get away . I don't want to be another war machine but I nearly lost her not to long ago.

"Well first off you don't have to thank me, I should be thanking you" he said as he smiled at Pepper. "I mean you're the one who's been there for me since day one from Stark Industries. You had to put up with my crap and all but never gave up on me and I am greatful. If there's a hero...it's you Pepper" he told her and from the heart. Tony wasn't pulling any pranks or making jokes, the man's serious about what he said to her. "So from me to you, thank you Pepper" he said. "Now about the armor for rescue. I would love to do that" he said and was excited just like Pepper for Rescue but had a few thoughts.
"And you won't loose her. Since what happens years ago, Rhodey and I have been upgrading our armors. Not changing it but making some adjustments to take on the clones. Mostly it's about speed and size when it comes to that" he explained. "So what would you like on the armor of Rescue?" he asked her as Tony crossed his arms and listened.

Pep was quiet as Tony spoke falling into old times listening to him talk was oddly relaxing she'd missed this aspect of him , but there was work to be done and while he spoke she tought of the mods she could make to rescue battle ready with out taking away what she was built for , hearing she was a hero pepper blinked looking up you know Tony , keep it up and I will blush. But really that's is what friends are for ...
As much as she wanted to keep her baby clean pepper knew she had to arm her some how . what I am thinking is to convert the flight stabilizers from the fusion to repulsor tech so I can get the beams like you use . Maybe a few of the one off toys aswell , beyond that do you think you can do anything with this . " Pepper taped her arc reactor . I've learned to tap into the eltromagnet , its ah a lot of fun to ride the old powerlines and I can even fly.... Well that's to much , hover for brief periods of time, OK I am showing off I am sorry , what were your ideas Tony ?

He laughed at Pepper's comment about making her blush. The Invincible Iron Man just smiled and sighed, shaking his head. Tony knew what the ladies like about him : his style, the way he dressed, his looks. Tony Start will always be a ladies man and will never be single unless he found the right woman to spend his life with. Whether it was with Pepper or another lucky woman, for now Tony gets to firlt and spend time with the ladies. Taking a sip of his coffee which was going to get cold, he swallowed before speaking.
"Pepper, I like making the woman blush....it's just...me" he told her and then listened to what she said about adding new stuff on the rescue armor. "Well that's a lot to make but no problem Pepper, anything for you. I'll see what I can do later on but you got it" he said. "So, has aything else been going on? Anything you need?" Tony asked, taking a sip of coffee listening to her speak.
